‘Twas the Night Before Election Day

It’s finally here.  I feel like a little kid waiting for Santa to arrive on Christmas morning.  All of the anticipation and anxiety will finally be over and tomorrow night (hopefully) we will know who will be the next President of the Free World.  We’ll all be able to breathe a sigh of relief and go back to our normal everyday lives.  The constant campaign coverage will be gone, the negative attacks, the he said-she said, the debates, the gaffes, the political conversations will die down to a murmur and things will go back to “normal”.

There is no early voting in NY.  Tomorrow I will have to brave the lines and wait just like everyone else.  I’ll wait patiently, excited that I will get to exercise my right to vote in this historic election year.  While I think you all have probably figured out who I will cast my vote for, no matter what the outcome is I’ll be okay.

WE WILL ALL BE OKAY.

Tomorrow is our turn to have a say, our turn to make a statement.  I hope that we will stand up in droves and shout from the rooftops, “IT’S TIME FOR CHANGE!”  I hope that there are no “close calls” or “hanging chads” to contend with.  Mostly, I hope that on Wednesday morning we wake up proud to live in a country where its future is decided by the voters that live in it.

A future that I’ll be happy to put in the hands of Senator Barack Obama.

PLEASE DON’T FORGET TO VOTE!
